Itron Commemorates 20th Anniversary of Its Initial Public Offering
Itron marks an important milestone by commemorating 20th anniversary of being listed as a publicly-traded company on NASDAQ.
Itron's initial public offering was November 4, 1993 at $13.50 per share. By the end of the first day of trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange, Itron stock closed around $15 per share. As of September 30, 2013 there were 39,114,298 shares outstanding.
Becoming a public company set the stage for Itron to grow and expand. When Itron went public, annual revenues were $93 million and Itron led the US market in AMR for electric and gas utilities. Today, Itron is a recognized name around the world supplying nearly 8,000 utilities in more than 100 countries with technology solutions to responsibly and efficiently manage energy and water resources. Itron has deployed more than 116 million communications globally and in 2012 reported revenue of $2.2 billion.
